Pursuit of Excellence Scholarship
Sigma Nu recognizes achievement at the college preparatory level by offering a scholarship to the incoming male freshman applicant who demonstrates true excellence in achievement and character through his high school career.
Sigma Nu LEAD Scholars
Sigma Nu is strongly committed to the academic success of each of our members. We believe that academic success is rooted in ensuring that each brother maintains a good balance in his life. Our LEAD Scholars program recognizes those members of our Fraternity who have demonstrated outstanding scholastic achievement and made significant positive contributions to the Fraternity and the University of Illinois community. Each academic year, the Sigma Nu Alumni Association at the University of Illinois gives awards to those undergraduate brothers who have distinguished themselves in this manner.
Sigma Nu’s LEAD program which stands for “Leadership, Ethics, Achievement, and Development” is a 4- year program designed to enhance each brother’s academic performance and to assist him in both gaining the knowledge and developing the skills and abilities needed to be an effective and ethical leader for life. The LEAD Program is a comprehensive ethicalleadership development program designed to ensure participants "learn by doing." The LEAD program emphasizes the important academic skills of effective time management, improvement of listening and communication skills, and efficient studying. Sigma Nu Honor Initiate
The Sigma Nu Alumni Association makes an award to that member of the fraternity initiated during the academic year who has the highest cumulative grade point average among those members initiated during that year. He is recognized as the Sigma Nu Honor Initiate for that particular academic year.
